It is very easy
to become confused and some what lost when it comes to selecting the correct
qualification for your career!
Here at The
Construction Training Centre we are probably more aware of that than most.
Our team of dedicated staff help advise and guide individuals everyday.
Students attend our courses for many different reasons, some just simply
want to upgrade their DIY skills, others are already fulltime tradesman like
Plumbers, Carpenters or Electricians who are adding extra strings to their
bow, but the majority are searching for a career change or the ability to
start their own business and be their own boss.
No matter what
your construction aspirations or needs are The Construction Training Centre
can provide exactly what you’re looking for!
One major
misconception that we come across more than any other is that you require an
NVQ or equivalent qualification to legally work within the industry! The
simple answer to that is you DON’T!
Obviously there
are particular individual professions like Electrician or Gas Installer that
do require thorough and qualified training due to the fact that these
professions carry out work that is dangerous and can cause death or serious
injury to the installer and general public. Please note that there are good
and reputable courses out there for these professions but remember that they
are not short and are often very expensive. That’s not to say that they
shouldn’t be considered and our staff will be happy to give you help and
advice on what courses to choose and what to look for. Please call us on
02476 373393 for more info.
We are accredited
by the NOCN National Open College Network and they are an equivalent to the
City & Guilds. It is possible with all our courses to add an accredited
assessment and qualification to your final certificate. Please contact us
for more details or see the NOCN website
www.nocn.org.uk
We are aware that
there are many centres who advertise their basic 5 & 10 day courses as City
& Guilds accredited courses. Please note that it isn’t possible to gain a
full NVQ in that period of time. It is possible that you can complete
individual NVQ units, but there are often many many different individual
units that make up one full qualification and unless your going to spend
thousands of pounds or a long period of time completing all of the units,
then alone they are virtually worthless, when its comes to working within
the industry.
Our mission at
The Construction Training Centre is to help the individuals that come to us
achieve their goals and aspirations.
Our courses primarily concentrate on giving you real time experience
of what it’s like to work in the trade.
If you want to be a Plasterer or any other Tradesman then we advise
you attend one of our basic courses where you’ll experience everything you
need to help you understand the skills you’ll require and most importantly
whether it’s the career for you. After that, if you are still certain that
its that path for you, then attend our more advanced courses where you get
lots more time on the trowel, saw or Tiles and hopefully we’ll turn you into
the Tradesman you want to be!
Alternatively we offer a guaranteed employment course
on behalf of Futuretrain that offers you 5 to 6 weeks training for £1800 and
a job worth at least £10 per hour no matter where you are located! See
www.futuretrain.org.uk
for more details!
